Best After Christmas Retail Clearance Sales, Deals and Discounts in 2010

If the purpose of after Christmas sales is to clear out inventory of merchandise that didn't sell before Christmas, then the retailers at the top of the after-Christmas discount list may be the ones that stocked too much inventory or sold too little merchandise during the holiday shopping season.

Since the biggest discounts and best deals during the 2010 after-Christmas sales were offered by Meijer, it can be deduced that perhaps the holiday shopping activity in Meijer stores didn't exceed Meijer management's expectations. Since the two chains offering the next highest discounts were both jewelry retailers, it can be surmised that jewelry boxes weren't prominent under this year's Christmas trees. Since Nordstrom put sales price tags on 4,700 items, and Saks became willing to sell 2,700 items at 30% of the original luxury price, it can be predicted that the rebound of luxury items didn't bounce as high as anticipated.
