Retail Industry Web Contests & Sweepstakes: Staples 2008 Holiday Season Promo

To attract holiday shoppers and encourage frequent purchases, Staples is staging a "Gift It For Free Sweepstakes." Before it's over, 10,000 Staples shoppers will be refunded for the Staples or Staples.com purchase they made between November 16 and December 24, 2008.Ten thousand winners will be randomly drawn, and each will receive a refund that is equal to the total purchase amount corresponding to the receipt code they submitted with their entry, up to $5,000. Individuals can only win once, so there will be 10,000 different winners, as long as those chosen meet all the eligibility requirements.

With refunds up to $5,000 possible for each person, Staples will potentially be giving away $50 million worth of free merchandise with this sweepstakes.

Entry With Purchase

Each time you make a purchase at a Staples store or at the Staples.com website between November 16 and December 24, 2008, you can submit a contest entry at www.giftitforfree.com. You'll need your receipt code or online confirmation number with these entries.

Automatic Entry with Staples Rewards

Individuals who participate in the Stapes Rewards customer loyalty program will automatically be entered each time they make a Staples store or Staples.com website purchase during the contest period.

You can enter the sweepstakes without making a purchase by submitting an entry by mail.

According to the official sweepstakes rules, you must hand print your first and last name, complete address, daytime phone number, email address, date of birth and the phrase “Staples is the place to shop for my holiday gifts” on a plain 3" x 5" paper. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by December 24th and received by Staples by December 31st at this address: The Staples Holiday Promotion, P.O. Box 7922, Melville, NY 11775-7922.

You may enter by mail more than once, but each entry must be mailed separately.

The drawing is scheduled to take place on January 7, 2009, and winners will be notified by mail or e-mail.

A preliminary list of winners will be posted on the giftitforfree.com website on January 14, 2009. The official verified winners will be posted on March 15, 2009.

You can obtain a written list of winners between March 15 and May 1, 2009 by sending a stamped, self-addresed envelope to: The Staples Holiday Promotion Winners, P.O Box 7999, Melville, NY 11775-7999.
