For the 57th year, Fortune Magazine compiled its "Fortune 500" list, which ranks the largest companies, both privately owned and publicly traded. The 2011 Fortune 500 rankings are based on 2010 annual gross revenue figures, not on profits.
Below is a list of U.S. retail industry companies that are included on 2011 "Fortune 500" list. While some companies below may not be primarily or exclusively retailers, a significant portion of their revenue is derived from retail sales.
This list is arranged according to the ranking each company was assigned on the 2011 Fortune 500 list, and includes comparison rankings from the 2008, 2009, and 2010 Fortune 500 list for each company.
