Net losses at Ann Taylor were $334 million in 2008, and its stock lost 79% of its value. The entire company only made $2.9 million in net income for the entire year. CEO Kay Krill was awarded more than double that. According to Salary.com Krill received compensation valued at $6.8 million for her work in 2008.

In the first quarter of 2009, Ann Taylor has not released any monthly same store sales figures, which is leaving analysts to speculate whether the company is rebounding from its 2008 losses and whether it will be able to win back customers and survive the retail recession.
