From casual restaurants like Denny's to full-service fancy restaurants like Fleming's Prime Steak House, U.S. restaurant chains are working hard to romance diners into spending at least part of their happy Valentine's Day in 2012 eating, drinking, and sharing the love in a retail eatery.
Since Valentine's Day is all about couples, in 2012 the U.S. restaurant industry is all about dinner-for-two, and sharing food. Sharing on Valentine's Day may be romantic for diners, but it also allows a way for a competitive Valentine's Day deal to remain profitable for the restaurants.
What follows is a complete list of the special menus, Valentine's Day themed food, dinner-for-two deals, sweetheart sweepstakes, and free Valentine's Day eCards that are being offered by some of the biggest restaurant chains in the U.S. as a Valentine's Day promotion on and around February 14, 2012. This list is arranged alphabetically according to the name of the restaurant chain that is offering some sort of special Valentine's Day offering. Baskin Robbins
Valentine's Cake Bites are mini versions of Baskin Robbins ice cream cakes, which contain a combination of cake and ice cream in the middle and an icing candy shell on the outside. For Valentine's Day the Valentine's Cake Bites have Valentine's themed decorative frosting. Special Valentine's flavors are Love Potion #31 and Chocolate Dipped Strawberry.

Ben & Jerry's

Bob Evans Restaurants
Valentine's Day Special is a Three-Course Dinner for Two for $19.99 is available from Saturday, February 11th through Tuesday, February 14th. The Bob Evans Valentine's Day Special includes a choice of soup or salad for each person, one of four entrees or an entree-sized salad, and one dessert to share.
Since Tuesdays are also "Kids Eat Free" nights at Bob Evans, there will be Valentine's Day crafts for kids on February 14th.
Boston Pizza
On February 14th, heart-shaped pizzas will be available at Boston Pizza restaurants and $1 from every heart-shaped pizza purchased will be donated to the Boston Pizza Foundation, which supports many different charities. Also on Valentine's Day, paper hearts will be sold for $2, and the entire proceeds of the paper heart sale will be donated to the Boston Pizza Foundation.

Chevy's Fresh Mex
The Special Valentine's Dinner for Two at Chevy's includes one appetizer to share, one entree each, and one dessert to share for $39.99. Choices come from a select Valentine's special menu, and the Valentine's Dinner for Two special is available at select Chevy's locations.>
Dairy Queen
The Blizzard of the Month and the Blizzard Cake of the Month are specially chosen for the Valentine's Day theme. Choco Cherry Love is sweet cherries and chocolate chunks blended in vanilla soft-serve and available throughout the month of February.

Send a free Valentine's Day e-card and Denny's will send the e-card along with a coupon for a free cookie skillet (free with the purchase of two entrees costing $2.50 or more) to both the Valentine e-card recipient and you.

In celebration of Valentine's Day, Golden Corral introduced three new things that can be dipped into the famous chocolate waterfall - heart-shaped cookies, S'mores, and cherry coconut macaroons. The chocolate waterfall is included with the Golden Corral all-you-can-eat buffet.
